Someone registers 1.1.1.1 TLS certs, and it wasn’t Cloudflare

This means the certs could be used to impersonate other domains and execute man in the middle attacks, decrypting sensitive data, etc.

The certs were registered by “Fina Root CA”, otherwise known as “Finna root your certificate authority?” This stuff writes itself.

Most browsers don’t trust Fina Root apparently, so this wasn’t a big issue. Still hilarious that 1.1.1.1 is in the news again, after bringing down half the Internet a few weeks ago. And Cloudflare thought it was such a cool IP address to own.
